Surzhana is a fashion designer, photographer and dancer from Buryatia (Siberia). From early years she possessed deep interest for different cultures of the world: their customs, music, dance, folklore, arts and craft, as well as their costumes and fashion.This interest, along with a diverse life experience (growing in beautiful vast steppes, studying in artistic cultural Moscow and moving to contrast fertile Beijing) have fused into her nomadic artistic style. It's minimalism which plays with contrasts of black and white, cold and warm, rough and fragile, silence and sound and so on. Roughness can hide fragility behind, and the other way around.
